With 20 years of experience in corporate and marketing communications, Rodney has worked the client and agency side of the business. Since 2007 he consults in strategic communications and lectures in public relations and advertising at the University of Colorado, Denver. Career accomplishments include leading communications during a $4 billion acquisition by a Fortune 250 company, for a newly NYtSE-listed company, in disaster public affairs for the American Red Cross, and freelance writing assignments for business and creative publications.
An Alabama native, Rodney holds a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in broadcast and film communication from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. He minored in English and Creative Writing. A local poetry award winner, Rodney has placed poetry, short essays, byline articles in various publications, and recently completed a biography about the late Nicholas DeVore III, an award winning National Geographic photographer from Aspen.
This consultant and university lecturer has traveled all 7 continents (32 countries and counting), summited 35 of Colorado’s Fourteeners, skydived, skeleton sledded down an Olympic luge, run the bulls in Pamplona, bungee jumped in New Zealand, rafted the Zambezi, crossed the Drake Passage, climbed Machu Picchu, walked the Great Wall, camped at Everest North Face Base Camp, slept beneath the stars amid Saharan dunes, stood at the source of the Nile, dodged Mozambican land mines, and survived a lightning bolt.
